Scanner App

Automatic attendance control

The goal of the project was to design a feature for a learning support application for teachers and lecturers. The purpose of the feature is to automatically check attendance without requiring manual registration, taking valuable time away from teaching and focusing it on learning.

The Scanner application is a learning support application that helps teachers manage their time efficiently, organize classes properly, and structure the semester so that the schedule is optimal for both students and teachers.

One of the main goals of the application is to organize time efficiently and properly. For this purpose, a feature has been created in the application that saves time for the teacher/instructor when checking attendance.

At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher logs into the application and selects the scan option. The application detects the students' phones via Bluetooth and automatically marks who is present in the class.

The application detects whether the student is on time or late for class. You can add the student in manual mode in case he forgets his phone and even delete the attendance if needed.

In this project I designed the automatic scanning feature, designed the user experience and designed the user interface.

Main Screens

Attendance scan screen

When the teacher enters the classroom at the beginning of a lesson, he can use the automatic attendance check and save valuable time for the lesson.

There is a scan button in the center of the screen, and after a few seconds the user can see all the students present in the class.

In the application, all classes taught by each teacher, grade level and class numbers are entered. Each teacher has his own schedule based on the date, and the application knows at any time which class the teacher is teaching. In case of last minute changes, the timetable can be edited manually.

Attendance control screen

After clicking Automatic Attendance Control, the user is redirected to the Attendance Control screen. At the top of the screen is a search bar that can be used to search for a specific student, and there is an option to filter students by various categories. Below the search bar are statistics that show the number of students in the class. In the center of the page, students who have participated in class are displayed in ascending order by name, class number, and grade. Students can be filtered by grade level and class. A student can be manually added by the teacher/instructor, and students can also be manually deleted from the attendance list if needed.

There is a lot of information on this screen, and it was important to include many elements without cluttering the screen with information and making it difficult to navigate.
